The Curriculum Design Committee of the Teachers for a New Era Project at UConn is dedicated to improving the quality of education and the opportunities for students across the university.   The CDC is composed of faculty members from an array of departments across the Neag School of Education and the College of Liberal Arts and Science.  Currently, the CDC has members from Classical and Modern Languages, English, Mathematics, Geography, History, Physics and Political Science, Educational Psychology and Curriculum and Instruction.  The CDC meets monthly.  Current CDC initiatives include the development of Diversity Studies Minor, the development of double major opportunities for Education students in substantive content areas, case method teaching, and the development of stronger content education for pre-service elementary education students.
