Abt Associates Inc., a leader in public- and private-sector evaluation, is completing a utilization-focused evaluation to assist the TNE project teams as they attempt to transform UConn’s teacher education program into a professional learning community characterized by engagement with the arts and sciences, evidence-based decision making, and a clinical practice model. The Abt Associates evaluation team will monitor the implementation and development of TNE at UConn, provide feedback and informed recommendations to the TNE project director and executive committee, and assist TNE in developing a sustainable assessment strategy for measuring long-term impacts of the project. The Abt Associates evaluation team is led by Dr. Alina Martinez, project director, with Dr. Fran O’Reilly as principal investigator, and Jennifer Schimmenti as senior analyst.
